SOLUTION TO SARGASSUM

SOLUTION TO SARGASSUM

The Sargassum problem was declared an "imminent natural disaster", which indicates that the Gulf of Mexico is not the only one affected by this problem, other places such as Florida, Texas, eastern Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Aruba, CuraƧao and several more beaches of the Caribbean Islands.

Natspace offers a solution through a plant that burns this algae that produces GAS and transforms it into clean energy. This entire process is completely closed, so it does not generate any type of emission to the outside and the plant is powered by energy generated by the gases it produces.

What is sargassum and why should we pay attention to it?
Sargassum is a macroalga belonging to the brown algae family. It can grow several meters and some species have gas to keep them afloat and promote photosynthesis.
Today, we can see sargassum floating on the surface of the ocean to function as a habitat for some marine species. In moderate amounts, it is beneficial for the ecosystem since it allows other species to come to life, as it is food for fish, shrimp, crabs and turtles.

The reason for its excessive aggravation is due to the increase in the temperature of the waters, due to climate change and the increase in nutrients in the water, this is due to the fact that human activity is sending polluting fertilizers to the waters, with which the ecosystem is unbalanced and favors the growth of algae.
The large amounts of sargassum not only affect the seas and oceans, when it accumulates on the beaches it produces erosion and after its putrefaction process, it emits an acid gas with a putrid smell that can be harmful to our health.

Clean energy

The pollution reduction compared to a sanitary landfill is approximately 97%, optimizing the use of clean fuels and energies, effectively reducing the environmental impact.
